Conservation treatment to damaged Monet to commence

The NGI will commence conservation treatment to Monet’s 'Argenteuil with a Single Sailboat' (1874), which was badly damaged following an unfortunate incident by a member of the public in the Millennium Wing on June 29th, 2012.

NGI Celebrates London Olympics 2012

To mark the occasion of the London Olympics 2012 (opening today, Friday 27 July), the National Gallery of Ireland has placed on public display, James Hanley’s portrait of sportsman, Ronnie Delany, who won gold for Ireland with his record win in the 1500m at the Melbourne Olympics in 1956.
