 Adult Art Pack

Adult Art Packs

Available to borrow free of charge from the Millennium Wing information desk at all times.

What are they?

The Adult Art packs are aimed at older people who come into the Gallery, have a bit of time on their hands and want to try out something new to do on their own or with a group of friends. Both regular visitors and new visitors to the Gallery will enjoy this pack, and it aims to encourage the users to engage with the collection in a number of different ways.

What is in them?

In the pack you will find a laminated information booklet which includes a ‘self-guide’ sheet with information on 6 paintings in the Irish collection, a ‘staff-choice’ selection in which a number of staff members have picked out their favourite paintings in the Gallery and have written a paragraph on them, a ‘highlights’ sheet indicating some of the highlights of the collection, and general information about the Gallery. Activity worksheets are also included. These include a ‘trail’ of the 20th century Irish rooms, ‘looking and responding’ in the sculpture corridor/atrium- information about the sculptures and sketching, some sketching grids, ‘down memory lane’- an area to note down any memories drawn up by paintings in the collection, and a word search/Sudoku to do (perhaps over coffee!) at the end of the trip. A map and comment form are also included.
