Guided Tours
There are free tours of the permanent collection at weekends. You can also arrange a private tour of the Gallery, or bring a school group for a visit.
Audioguides
Free audioguides of selected highlights of the collection can be borrowed from the Information Desks. The audioguides are available in English, Irish, French, German, Italian and Polish. There is also a special children's audioguide which is available in English only.
Family Packs
Free family packs containing paper, pencils, discovery trails and activity sheets are available at the Information Desk in the Millennium Wing.

Research Services
The Gallery's research collections support the study of art and associated disciplines. They also provide information on the permanent collections and special exhibitions. The valuable resources in these collections consist of material relating to the national and international development of the visual arts from the middle ages onwards. The collections are located in a number of areas in the gallery and incorporate the Art Library, the Centre for the Study of Irish Art, NGI Archives, Yeats Archive and Prints & Drawings Study Room.
Picture Clinic
Curators appraise paintings, prints and drawings brought into the Gallery. This takes place in the Atrium between 10am and 12pm on the first Thursday of each month (except August and January).
Book and Gift Shop
Located at the Clare Street entrance to the Gallery, the shop stocks a large selection of art books as well as postcards, cards and gift ideas.
Café and Restaurant
The National Gallery Café and Restaurant is run by With Taste, and is located at the Clare Street entrance level. For people visiting with infants, high chairs are available.
Venue Hire
The Gallery offers a unique environment to host a function or event in a variety of locations.
Babychanging facilities
Two baby changing areas are available in the Gallery, located at the Merrion Square and the Clare Street bathrooms.
Wheelchairs
Wheelchairs are available to borrow at the Merrion Square and the Clare Street cloakrooms.
Accessibility
The Gallery has elevators, ramps, platforms and bathroom facilites which have been adapted for visitors with mobility impairment.
Lost & Found
A lost and found facility is in operation in the Gallery. If you lose something during your visit, please report it to the information desks at the Merrion Square or Clare Street entrances.
