MASTERPIECES FROM THE COLLECTION
Beit Wing (Rooms 1-10)
Masterpieces from the Collection is a special presentation of some of the finest works in the Gallery’s collection, now open in the Beit Wing and Millennium Wing (rooms 1 – 10). It includes a stunning selection of paintings from the European collection, from the early Renaissance through to the mid-twentieth century. Highlights of the Irish collection map the development of Irish art from the eighteenth century onwards and include key works by Hugh Douglas Hamilton, James Barry, William Orpen, John Lavery and Jack B. Yeats.
Jack B. Yeats Display
The exhibition ‘Masterpieces from the Collection’ features a new display of paintings devoted to Jack B. Yeats (1871-1957). It includes a number of the artist’s most popular works, The Singing Horseman (1949), Men of Destiny (1946), A Lake Regatta (1923) and Above the Fair (1946).
The Meeting on the Turret Stairs
One of the Gallery’s most popular watercolours, The Meeting on the Turret Stairs by Frederic William Burton (1816-1900) is now installed in a specially made cabinet in the Millennium Wing. Due to its delicate nature, the Burton watercolour will be available to view for a limited time each week, as follows:

Access to the Masterpieces display in the Beit Wing is via the Millennium Wing. Admission is free. Please use the entrance at Clare Street.
