Schools & Cultural Engagement: Design, Film, Digital Media
Saturday 27 September 2014: Gallery Lecture Theatre
The Seminar will explore ideas in design, film and digital media and is open to all primary and post-primary teachers to help integrate culture, creativity and the arts into their classwork. The talks on film, digital media and graphic art will provide teachers with ideas to encourage students to use new technologies to portray contemporary life. It will include an overview on the ‘Arts in Education Charter’ (2012), and a presentation on ‘creativity’. This Schools & Cultural Engagement Seminar follows on from the Access to Culture Conference in 2013 marking new online publications. In 2014 two new publications ‘Exploring Childhood at the NGI 1570-1970’ and ‘West of Ireland Paintings at the NGI 1800-2000’, supported by the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht and the Department of Education and Skills, will be launched and available as downloadable pdfs.
