‘This portrait of Lara is an 8ish-minute exposure with a handmade, tubular pinhole camera in a makeshift, south-facing studio during the late August sun. The long exposure allows for an element of chance to enter the work, as the sitter’s movement is not restricted. Unpredictable details can be recorded on a negative, which is then digitally scanned and prepared for printing.'
