Back Garden, 2021
Photograph | Unframed 39 x 52 cm ; Framed 45 x 58cm
'Back Garden is a black and white photographic portrait of Irish artist, and friend, Corban Walker. The image focuses on the body of a tree and the human body; these elements are compared, echoed and conflated. Several years ago Hurricane Ophelia ripped over the country, felling countless trees. The apple tree in the back garden was one such casualty. I aim to explore the threshold between what is human and what is nature, a place where the two intertwine and imagination can blossom. Revealing an intimacy and tenderness that can exist between friends.’
