This podcast series was inspired by our summer exhibition New Perspectives. Acquisitions 2011-2020 (11 May – 2 August 2021).
This exciting exhibition showcases a selection of new works acquired for the national collection over the past decade. An unprecedented number of works by contemporary artists have been acquired by the Gallery during this time, and this podcast series will explore three of these works of art in more depth.
Episode 3: Artist Richard Gorman in conversation with Donal Maguire
In 2020, the Gallery acquired a woodblock print by Irish artist Richard Gorman, Big Red (2005). In this episode, Donal Maguire, Curator of the Gallery's ESB Centre for the Study of Irish Art, speaks to Gorman about this print, as well as his career and practice.
