‘My grandad has made many pieces. One of his most famous is also my favourite. This piece is called Family Unit 1 and is located in Fairview Park, Dublin. It represents a mother, father and child. It has three people but only four legs to represent that the mother and father support the child and the family unit. When considering a project for my Junior Certificate I brainstormed on what I could do. My grandad and family were two topics that were an output of that brainstorm. After further consideration, I decided to use my favourite sculpture and sculptor’s face to create a unique piece.’
