Tuesday 5 - Saturday 9 November 2024

Our first ever Youth Festival is a weeklong series of free art-making activities, social experiences, events, and creative explorations by young people, for young people (ages 16-25). The Gallery Youth Festival is a space for young people to celebrate their creativity, imagination, and resilience on their own terms.

The Youth Festival programme is a collaboration between the Gallery and young people. It is devised and delivered by the Gallery Youth Panel, SpunOut Action Panel, and West Wicklow Youthreach

  • We are committed to running accessible, inclusive events and activities and making our programme as welcoming as possible.
  • As part of the Youth Festival, young people ages 16 to 25 receive a 10% discount in the Gallery Shop across the week. Identification, including young adult leap card and/or student card, may be required.

West Wicklow Youthreach’s Vision for the Future display and sensory exploration (5-9 November | Print Gallery)

West Wicklow Youthreach learners present their vision for the future in connection with the In Real Life exhibition. Through their creativity and use of upcycled materials, the group worked with artist Lynn Haughton to explore themes around climate change, nature, unity, and safer worlds. Along with the installation, Youthreach learners created a tactile box, encouraging sensory explorations of both their project and the exhibition.
The installation will be invigilated throughout the week by Gallery Youth Panel members.

  • West Wicklow Youthreach is an alternative education and training programme for early school leavers aged 16-21, offering QQI level 3 and 4 junior and leaving cert equivalent, and personal development programmes in a welcoming and supportive environment. Learners are supported to complete work experience, hone their individual strengths, and start planning their future path to the world of work or higher education.
  • Members of the Education Team and Youth Panel will be on-hand to assist and support exhibition visitors and programme participants.
