Join the National Gallery of Ireland Youth Panel for a special display of Éiru’s Welcome: A Panel for All, a stained glass artwork from Belfast Artist Kerrie Hanna, designed in collaboration with the Gallery Youth Panel, commissioned by the Centre for the Study of Irish Art.

Kerrie Hanna and the Gallery’s Youth Panel co-created Éiru’s Welcome: A Panel for All in response to the Gallery exhibition An Túr Gloine: Artists and the Collective and the An Túr Gloine archive, drawing on Irish mythology and celebrating the shared island of Ireland as a collective of diverse stories, lives and experiences.

To support engagement with this new artwork and the process that created it, for this special Youth Lab, the Youth Panel will create opportunity to explore the craft and wonder of stained glass with a display presenting tools, samples and techniques from the artform, centred around the newly acquired artwork, Éiru’s Welcome: A Panel for all

Drop-by the Education Studio between 12pm and 4pm to chat with artist Kerrie Hanna and Youth Panel members about the creative process behind this artwork.

Eiriu’s Welcome: A Panel for All was supported by the Esmé Mitchell Trust and is displayed in collaboration with the Centre for the Study of Irish Art.
