Today's free online workshop takes inspiration from our exhibition Mainie Jellett and Evie Hone. The Art of Friendship.
Let’s Get Creative is an inclusive, accessible, online workshop, devised to inspire creativity in children of all ages and abilities. Running monthly, these sessions give children around the country and beyond, the opportunity to connect with the Gallery.
Join Eileen O'Sullivan to make your own artwork with shapes, just as Mainie Jellett and Evie Hone did. We will be using foam sheets, paper and cellophane to make full and colourful cubist-style artworks inspired by the Stained Glass artworks that Jellett and Hone produced. We will think about shapes as the main form in the artwork. Participants will be encouraged to swap shapes with friends to create dynamic pieces that connect them with other participants. Eileen will be on hand to provide guidance as you create your own works of art!
- This session will take place via ZOOM.
- A list of suggested materials will be circulated to ticketholders in advance.
- All workshops are free of charge; however, you must book a place in advance.
Mainie Jellett and Evie Hone. The Art of Friendship is kindly supported by The Klesch Collection, Lead Sponsor; Friends of the National Gallery of Ireland, and the Art of Friendship Giving Circle.
The Gallery would like to thank the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media for their ongoing support.
