The Creative Process: Artists and their Sketchbooks.
Artists have used sketchbooks for centuries to capture their surroundings, record interesting details in their daily lives, or to prepare for a larger work of art. This talk with Katie Buckley, Fellow, Prints and Drawings, National Gallery of Ireland, will focus on the wide variety of sketchbooks in the National Gallery of Ireland’s collection to explore how and why sketchbooks are so important in an artist’s practice. Artists discussed will include Sarah Purser, Margaret Clarke, William Osborne, Walter Osborne, Paul Henry and Alicia Boyle.
Free, no booking required.
