The artist’s son is set against a turbulent grey sky. He occupies the space with a wren, bumblebee and hoverfly. Dressed in a miscellany of clothing gathered from his grandparents, he contemplates something out of frame and unknown. In this painting there is a reflection on the past and an uneasy contemplation of the future, balanced with the wonder of one’s own child.
