Double Self Portrait, 2021

‘This close-to-life-sized double self-portrait was completed in sections, on six large pieces of paper. This made it easier to manoeuvre in my small home studio. The figure on the left stands in what is known in yoga as ‘tree pose’. The figure on the right grows a tendril of sweet pea from her fingernail. Both figures wear brightly coloured, patterned or sheer clothing, which presented me with the opportunity to use my coloured pencils to their fullest extent.’
