Join us for a Talk and Tea event where conservators Maria Canavan and Natalia Macro will discuss the conservation process behind Mazzolino’s The Crossing of the Red Sea.

Hosted by Caomhán Mac Con Iomaire, this conversation will offer a behind-the-scenes look at the careful work involved in preserving a painting that has been in the Gallery’s holdings since 1914. This event includes tea/coffee, biscuits and plenty of conversation!

  • The talk will take place in the Education studio and will include tea/coffee biscuits and plenty of chat!
  • The Education Studio is on level 1 of the Gallery and is fully accessible by lift from the Clare Street Entrance. It is at the same level as the Merrion Square Entrance. Toilets, accessible toilets, baby changing, and a Changing Places facility are located near the Studio and the Education Team are on-hand to support.
  • This event is part of our Tuesday Talk and Tea series, an informal discussion about an aspect of the Gallery’s collection or an exhibition. It involves a short illustrated talk followed by a discussion with the audience over a cup of tea (or coffee, of course!).
