Paintings Conservator Maria Canavan and Research Scientist Dr. Natalia Macro will present the fascinating findings from a deep dive into The Crossing of the Red Sea, 1521 by Ludovico Mazzolino (c.1480–1528). While using cutting-edge equipment at the Gallery’s new Scientific facility, the project team discovered the materials and techniques of this accomplished Ferrarese artist. The newly conserved painting is part of a special exhibition in Room 31.
