‘I find the quote “Who sees the human face correctly: the photographer, the mirror, or the painter?” by Pablo Picasso fascinating. Mirrors can never capture and render permanent what they see, yet the mirror on my bedroom wall has watched my whole life. It was this realisation, as I dressed myself in front of the mirror that I tried to capture in paint. Does only the mirror capture my true self, or can the painting capture that?'
