‘My self-portrait Ravens’ Reflection is made of two parts: a painting and a poem. My intention is for these two elements to work hand-in-hand to encourage viewers to create their own interpretation of the work. This piece explores themes to do with the effects of rural to urban migration, disconnection from nature, and ultimately finding “home” despite this. While being a deeply personal self-portrait, it will hopefully touch upon ideas of universal interest for its viewers.’
