‘This portrait captures former Shamrock Rovers defender Chloe McCarthy (who now plays for Treaty United). I took this photograph at Tolka Park during the warm-ups ahead of the Women’s Premier Division match against Shelbourne. Rovers and Shelbourne are historic local rivals, and each club is highly competitive. Through my photography, I aim to capture the essence of Rovers and its players. I am fascinated by football supporters’ culture and my images relate to Dublin’s wider football scene and the growing interest in women’s football.’
